Documenting human beings and their infinite,
mesmerizing, ever-changing mysteries is what interests me about photography.
A person...a moment...the miracle of a fleeting second
of truth in a lifetime, a gathering, a true love....Affections, thought,
happiness... I want the camera not to be an intruder, but a witness;
unobtrusive; an instrument used to capture the gift of a moment in,
say, a child's day...some inimitable and enduring quality in a friendship,
a marriage...a second of joy or meaning captured from a family gathering,
a wedding, a special party...
A picture, I believe,
is worth far more than a thousand words.
I aspire to photograph people as they are
in their own selves. This, I find, is where the timelessness,
the mystery and the endless depth of our lives lie.
This is my art.
